Manufacturer Description:
A balanced blend of Virginia and Turkish tobaccos. Fine rich flavour.
Characterisation:
The Standard Mixture insistences of mostly darker tobaccos with a few brighter parts in an unspectacular cut. The smell is smoky-spicy with a profound, but heavy sweetness. The fresh tobacco feels mellow, but a little bit too dampish.
Plugging:
The tobacco could be plugged unproblematic with any for mixtures applicable method. Concerning the humidity it must be attended, that the fresh tobacco shouldn’t be plugged to compressed. Perhaps it’s a good idea to take out the needed portion before plugging and let it dry for 1 or 2 hours.
Light up:
The Standard Mixture tends something to straighten up, but could light up easy with 1 to 2 flames without problems. After dampen down with the tamper it’ll glow constant without a need to light up again.
Smoking properties:
After light up the high amount of Orient and Latakia become noticeable immediately. The spicy taste will go along with a sweetly note, which lets taste the tobacco pleasant. The taste reminds a little bit of dark, herb chocolate. The Standard Mixture should be smoked with attention, so that the fine nuances will persist. Smoked slowly and cool it’s mild in taste, but nevertheless medium in strength. It’ll glow down with less condensate to a balance of bright grey ash.
Redolency:
The redolence it typically smoky, dominated by Orient and Latakia. Due to the unfathomably sweetness the smoke seems to be heavy, but it’s evaporating rather quick. The remaining smell is however only recommended for friends of that kind of taste...
Conclusion:
The Standard Mixture is a rather dark tobacco with high amounts of Orient and Latakia. A profound sweetness, probably from the Virginia, lets seem this tobacco, in spite of it’s medium strength, to be mild. The taste reminds a little bit of dark, herb chocolate. To let the nuances of the taste spread, it’s necessary to smoke it with attention. That’ll be rewarded with a constant, cool glowing with less condensate. The redolence is only suited for friends of this kind of tobaccos. For enthusiasts of English mixtures with Latakia this tobacco is a recommendation, beginners should take some care to the strength and to smoke the tobacco cool, than it’ll be a pleasing taste experience.
