This ready-rubbed tobacco is made in equal parts from golden brown Burley and Cavendish from pure Virginia tobaccos. Golden Ambrosia is a very aromatic and light tobacco with good glowing ability.
Characterisation:
With the Golden Ambrosia Ready Rubbed you have the choice between the practical Pouch to take away or the tin, which is better suited for a longer storage. The tobacco is a dark brown Ready Rubbed with medium brown and some bright inclusions, it is partially only very roughly rubbed. Although there is no explicit mention of a flavor, the Cavendish seems to have received a clear casing, which is in any case due to the intense sweet and fruity scent that emanates from the tobacco. The contained residual moisture is matched so well that you can plug the tobacco immediately.
Plugging:
If one crumbles the sometimes very large pieces of Flake between the fingers, then the Golden Ambrosia Ready Rubbed can relatively simply be plugged. Only too full or too tight you should not fill the pipe - as with all Ready Rubbed. Some fine crumbs at the end additionally facilitate the kindling.
Light up:
For Ready Rubbed mixes, it is quite common for the pressed pieces of tobacco to rise slightly under the first flame. If you correct this with a gentle use of the tamper, and give evenly fire again, the Golden Ambrosia Ready Rubbed burns without further difficulties.
Smoking properties:
The smoke of the Golden Ambrosia Ready Rubbed is lush and soft, yet spicy. Particularly striking, however, are the distinct hints of nut, which are typical of high-quality Burleys and the intense toasted bread note, which is attributed to the Virginia. Equally present, but remaining in the background is an unusual fruity-flowery sweetness, which underscores the overall impression and can not be attributed to flavoring, but rather to the casing of the Cavendish. Remaining is medium gray ash, several unburned crumbs and some condensate.
Redolency:
In the room the Golden Ambrosia Ready Rubbed smells for tobacco, but slightly sweet, so that in tolerant society due to the "typical pipe scent" it can also meet with a positive echo.
Conclusion:
Although the Golden Ambrosia Ready Rubbed is a bit coarse, it is still relatively easy to plug and ignite the tobacco. The smoke of the Golden Ambrosia Ready Rubbed is not too strong, but also pleasantly creamy and conveys the typical nut and toasted bread flavors, as you would expect from a Burley-Virginia-blend. In addition – and that makes the Golden Ambrosia Ready Rubbed is really interesting – to taste a dark-toned sweetness that fits surprisingly well with its floral and fruity notes to the tobacco condiment, which gives the Golden Ambrosia Ready Rubbed the finishing touches. The tobacco is suitable for any time of day due to its aromatics and moderate strength and also for not very experienced smoker, if they do not act too blunt when plugging.
