Selected Burley and light Virginia tobaccos are rounded off with some Black Cavendish and refined with a delicate cherry flavor. A mixture with a very soft, subtly fruity note. Cutting width 1.8 - 2.5mm.
Packed in its pouch, the Ruby is good to be taken on the way. If you want to store the tobacco for a long time, it should be transferred to an airtight sealable vessel. The Ruby is a blend of medium and light brown tobacco fibers with some darker sprinklings. The cut width is as stated by the manufacturer. If one loosens the pressed into the pouch tobacco, which succeeds easily, so it shows a rather curled cut. The Ruby smells sweet, which is less reminiscent of cherries, but more generally of red fruits. The basic moisture is so balanced that you can plug the tobacco immediately.
The frizzy cut of the Ruby requires some care when plugging. One should take care not to give the tobacco too tight into the pipe, since otherwise the puffing on the pipe can become too heavy. "Plugging" here means - as so often - gentle pressure - which the experienced smoker do with routine, so that they also need some practice for this tobacco.
Plugged well, the Ruby needs only the one-time use of the tamper after the first flame for a gentle straightening of the ember bed, so that the second flame produces an uniform glow.
The smoke of Ruby is surprisingly smoky for a flavored tobacco. In addition, tobacco-spicy notes reminiscent of toasted bread are to taste. The actual cherry aroma gives fullness and a distinct sweetness, but reminds, as already in the cold scent, rather vaguely of cherries and gives rather the impression of a fruity juiciness, which complements the spicy smoky notes well until the last third of the filling. As with many flavored tobaccos, for the Ruby too the pipe has to be kept cool, otherwise the tobacco can tingle a little on the tongue. If you have taken care while plugging not to proceed too firmly, the burning is uncomplicated and leaves only a little dark gray ash and condensate.
In the Ruby's room note, tobacco and sweet aroma mix so that it should not be seen negatively - assuming a tolerant society.
The medium and light brown, sweet fruit scented Ruby needs due to its frizzy nature some attention when plugging. It also wants to be deliberately smoked so that it does not get too hot. But then lovers of flavored tobaccos get both spicy-smoky, as well as strong fruity sweet flavors that complement each other well and together with the medium strength to a completely pleasant smoking experience.
