Characterisation:
The Three Nuns is a strong tobacco, that lies in the tin as rather small curly disks of middle - until dark brown colour. The disks frayed something, so that they don't form any perfect disks, but the cut-type is clearly recognizable. The brighter Virginia, is supplemented through dark Kentucky, that gives the tobacco the powerful scent. The Three Nuns is optimally conditioned so that it can be plugged directly.
Plugging:
The Three Nuns can be plugged stacked in small pipe bowls, but generally it's necessary to rub off the tobacco and to plug loosely. One can twist the ready rubbed disks between the fingers to fluffily balls, that one also then stuffs loosely into the bowl. Similarly as flakes the Three Nuns should not be plugged to firmly, because it extends something while glowing down.
Light up:
The Three Nuns could be light up well with 1 to 2 flames. Depending on the plug method it tends a little bit to straighten up, what could be regulated with the tamper rather quick, without the need for re-ignition.
Smoking properties:
Directly after light up, the Three Nuns develops its full taste of pure tobacco. The Kentucky clearly gets the validity. The rather riper Virginia gives a full-bodied sweet grade to the tobacco so that one can experience a pleasantly delicious, but strong smoking-pleasure. The Three Nuns must be smoked alertly. The temperature shouldn't become too hot, and the ash more frequently must be dampened down. The Three Nuns therefore is suitable as tobacco for comfortable evening-hours or after a good lunch. Glowing down is even with little condensate. The remaining ash is medium grey with a few black speckles.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Three Nuns is strong too, but not unpleasant. The clear-cut Kentucky is supplemented well through the sweetish Virginia. The Three Nuns admittedly is not inconspicuous, but should be welcome everywhere, however, where the smoking-pleasure is allowed.
Conclusion:
The Three Nuns is a middle to dark brown tobacco in curly-cut. The disks are a little bit fringy, but otherwise relatively form-stable. The Three Nuns smells powerfully of pure tobacco and is well conditioned. The disks can be stacked in small pipe bowls or plugged ready rubbed, light up is simple. The Three Nuns must be smoked with attention to the temperature and the ash more frequently should be dampened down. So, the tobacco develops its full, due to the Virginia slightly sweet, taste. Glowing down is even with little condensate, the remaining ash is medium grey with black speckles. The Three Nuns is a strong tobacco, that should be smoked comfortably, after a good lunch or as day-conclusion in the evening. Strength and handling rather recommend the Three Nuns to experienced pipe-smoker.
