Dos Maderas 5+5 Dos Maderas not only combines the best of two aging methods on opposite sides of the globe, but also brings together two cultures. On one side, there is the rum heritage of Barbados and Guyana in the Caribbean, and on the other side, there is the rich sherry tradition of Jerez in Spain, specifically that of the historic Bodega Williams & Humbert - one of the most renowned wine and spirits producers in the world. This sherry bodega was founded in 1877 and is currently run by the Medina family, who have been involved in the wine industry since the 1960s. After the initial aging in the tropics, these exceptional rum blends are transported to Spain to Bodegas Williams & Humbert. Here, they are further refined through an additional aging process in sherry casks.
Smell: Notes of figs and raisins leading to rich, mature fruit notes in the taste. Tropical spices and Sherry notes accompany smoky oak and a hint of tobacco. Taste: Exceptionally smooth, harmonious, and mild on the palate with a pleasant sweetness. Selected rums from Barbados and Guyana mature for 5 years in American oak barrels in the Caribbean. Afterward, this blend is transported to the Andalusian city of Jerez, where it undergoes an additional 3 years of aging in high-quality Palo Cortado barrels at the Sherry house Williams & Humbert, following the Solera process. In the final phase of the aging process, Dos Maderas 5+5 PX spends an extra 2 years in the Solera system in the barrels of "Don Guido" – a 20-year-old Pedro Ximénez Sherry (V.O.S.). Its triple aging makes Dos Maderas PX unique, with a bouquet of unparalleled taste and aroma.
