Manufacturer Description:
This mixture excites and calms at the same time. It’s produced by the same tobaccos like the other brands, but spiced with a little bit Orient, intended for customer, who only wish an overtone of eastern tobaccos.
Characterisation:
Rattray's Professional Mixture is a ruddily brown mixture with the typical fine cut. The tobacco smells sweetish-spicy as a naturally English tobacco where Latakia could barely be perceived. The tobacco feels mellow and lithesome with optimal humidity.
Plugging:
This tobacco can be plugged simply for layer like a fine mixture, whereby it’s suitable also for pipes with low volumes. It’s recommended, as ever, to plug the tobacco not too compressed to verify an optimal draught.
Light up:
The Professional Mixture could be lighted up easily with one or two flames, whereby it tends a little bit to straighten up. A lightly pressing down with the tamper distributed the glow evenly without any need to light up again.
Smoking properties:
This tobacco has the typical smoking properties of English mixtures with a dash of Latakia. Spice and sweetness complement each other to a harmonious taste, which evince from time to time nuances of Latakia. A little bit attention is necessary, to prevent the tobacco from getting too hot, what would be thanked with a constant burning down with less condensate and good tongue agreeableness. The typical ash with bright and darker parts will remain at the end.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Professional Mixture is similar to a native, sweet Virginia. Orient and Latakia are rather in the background, but will be remarkable by spicy and nuttily nuances. The smell isn’t obtrusive in any way and this tobacco should be welcome in social societies.
Conclusion:
A ruddily mixture produces by Rattray’s typical method with a rather fine cut. Sweet Virginia, unobtrusive Orient and a dash Latakia combine to a pleasing impression with a specific kind of condiment. Smoked with a little bit attention, a tongue-friendly tobacco for any occasion. The redolence isn’t as obtrusive as by some other English mixtures, because the amount of Latakia is rather less. Overall the tobacco is medium strength, but nevertheless suited for experienced smoker and beginner, respectively changer.
