Manufacturer Description:
"Take Five" – a five minutes break. Title of the famous jazz classics and name of this Virginia Ready Rubbed Mixture. Who does not know the pulsating rhythm and the playful dynamics of the play from the saxophonist Paul Desmond. Dave Brubeck and his quartet made "Take Five" world-famous and their interpretation remains unforgettable. The basis of the "Take Five" Ready Rubbed Flake consists of a Virginia Honeydew Flake, which was blended with White Burley, some Black Cavendish and various Virginias as Loose Cut. A distinctive spicy-floral aromatization combined with the honey-sweet Virginia-Flake ensures a deliciously tasty smoke. A subtle lemonfruit-note gives the "Take Five" the distinctive charm and its unmistakable touch, which almost challenges a small break. "Take Five" – a five minutes break. A feast for fans of sweet direction who know a top quality to treasure. ... what does not know a break is not permanent (Ovid).
Characterisation:
The Blender's Pride Take Five is a medium to dark brown, gold-spotted Ready Rubbed, with finer, almost black fibers. Overall, the tobacco is finely ground, but has some coarse pieces. The scent is sweetish, at the same time smoky, with chocolate and fruity aromas. The Blender's Pride Take Five should be slightly pre-dried because it is a little moist.
Plugging:
The Blender's Pride Take Five can be plugged very easily if one sticks to the simple rule for all Ready Rubbed tobaccos: not too tight and too full.
Light up:
The Blender's Pride Take Five does not rise under the flame and needs only a gentle smoothing after the first flame - after the second flame it burns uncomplicated to the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
The Blender's Pride Take Five has a rich, unrivaled feel. The different aromas are not so overwhelmingly dosed that they would cover the tobaccos used: you taste spicy Virginia, nutty Burley, sparkling Perique. However, in the spiciness one can notice the cloves, the freshness of lemons, a pleasantly mild sweetness and a certain juiciness reminiscent of cherries. The aromas are so cleverly chosen that they support the tobaccos and their characteristics. The burn-off is easy and leaves only medium-gray ash for cleaning, with some unburnt crumbs and some condensation.
Redolency:
In the room The Blender's Pride Take Five is sweetish, lightly for cherries and therefore what non-smokers call "typical pipe-smoke", which is why the tobacco can meet with society.
Conclusion:
The medium to dark brown The Blender's Pride Take Five is a rather fine Ready Rubbed, whose tobacco aromas are supported by the used flavour, but are not overwhelmed. No flavor-bomb, but a good flavored tobacco for smokers who like it a bit sweeter. Because of its mild strength and very easy preparation, the The Blender's Pride Take Five is a tobacco suitable for all time as well as for beginners, and because of its pleasant redolence it is even suitable for non-smoking society - what more could you ask for?
