And yet another first! For the first time in its 35-year history, 5th Avenue Products—the official exclusive importer of Habanos for Germany, Austria, and Poland—has selected the Saint Luis Rey brand for a Regional Edition Alemania release. The SAINT LUIS REY BELICOSOS feature the “Campana” vitola. Literally translated, it means “bell”, as this beautiful figurado format slightly resembles such a sound body. A Campana measures 140 mm in length with a 52-ring gauge. Campanas are among the classic Habanos formats and can be found in the standard Habanos portfolio as Bolívar Belicosos Finos, Romeo y Julieta Belicosos, San Cristóbal de La Habana La Punta, and Sancho Panza Belicosos.

The edition of Saint Luis Rey Belicosos consists of 6,000 individually numbered boxes, each containing 25 of these aromatic cigars. The boxes are typically arranged in a two-layer configuration and decorated with lithographs, known in Cuba as "habilitaciones". The Saint Luis Rey brand was introduced just before World War II. Some claim that the brand name refers to the play "The Bridge of San Luis Rey" by Thornton Wilder, which was popular at the time. However, it is more likely that it is dedicated to the town of San Luis in the heart of Vuelta Abajo, where excellent wrapper leaves for Habanos are still produced today. Whatever the truth behind its origin, the Saint Luis Rey Habanos have earned an excellent reputation among aficionados due to their intense flavor. Currently, only the "Regios" format is produced in the brand's standard range.
It is made from filler and binder tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco-growing region.
