Packaged in nostalgically designed 50g tins, these high-quality flake tobaccos combine traditional craftsmanship with aromatic refinement. Classic flavors—chocolate, red fruits, and vanilla—come together with a fine selection of Oriental, Virginia, and Burley tobaccos. Their flake pressing process gives them a new depth and elegance.
All three varieties impress with their gentle smoking characteristics, balanced sweetness, and high suitability for everyday use – perfect for lovers of classic aromatics with a penchant for something special.
Neon Pearl – Creamy Seduction with Vanilla & Fig
Neon Pearl is a smooth, mellow tobacco with a seductive sweetness. Gentle vanilla meets the fruity depth of ripe figs – a scent reminiscent of a warm pastry. The blend of carefully selected Virginia, Burley, and Oriental tobaccos unfolds a creamy smoke texture with an almost creamy character. The high aromatic intensity ensures a flavorful yet mild smoking experience with a pleasant aroma.
Characterisation:
The black hinged-lid tin creates a nostalgic impression, while the green glitter paper, sealed with a mermaid seal, lives up to the name of the Pesse Canoe Neon Pearl. The tin is no longer airtight once the cellophane wrapper is opened, so the tobacco may need to be transferred for storage. The carefully stacked flakes are light brown with darker marbling. The rising scent is vaguely reminiscent of a good soap, as one would expect from Irish blends. A faint sweetness can also be detected in the background. Because the flakes are very crumbly, the moisture content is not too high, so the tobacco can be plugged immediately.
Plugging:
The crumbly flakes of Pesse Canoe Neon Pearl are easiest to add to your pipe as ready-rubbed flakes. Gentle pressure and a few loose crumbs on top make for a good filling.
Light up:
Pesse Canoe Neon Pearl is very flammable. A single flame is almost sufficient. However, to be on the safe side, you should flatten it with the tamper and then light it again.
Smoking properties:
Contrary to what the cold aroma of the Pesse Canoe Neon Pearl suggests, the smoke is dominated by oriental tobaccos. There's no discernible Irish perfume, nor is there a classic vanilla aroma to be expected. Smoky and grassy notes, typical of the Orientals, dominate. There are even hints of pepper and leather. The smoke isn't overly strong, but it's luscious. This spice is harmoniously complemented by the fig aroma, whose piquant, tart dried fruit pairs well with the sour oriental tobaccos. The aroma is persistent, and the burn is so uncomplicated that it leaves only medium-gray ash and a few crumbs in the pipe.
Redolency:
Despite its flavoring, the Pesse Canoe Neon Pearl reveals its oriental tobacco content. Not excessive, but considerate to non-smokers.
Conclusion:
Carefully packaged, the light and dark marbled flakes exude a dull, sweet, almost soapy aroma. However, don't be fooled. The smoke of the Pesse Canoe Neon Pearl primarily reveals its Oriental tobacco content, which contributes typical grassy and spicy aromas. Pepper and leather add intensity without the tobacco being overpowering. The aroma underlines the base tobacco rather than overpowering it. Those seeking a lightly flavored flake may find the Pesse Canoe Neon Pearl an everyday companion, but one that enhances its appeal when smoked consciously and calmly.
