Manufacturer Description:
This full-bodied, golden-yellow flake from the best Virginia grades and Louisiana Perique offers you a very gentle smoke flavor with the natural-soft flavor that the friends of an excellent flake so much cherish.
Characterisation:
When opening the round tin, the sweet-spicy scent of dry fruits of the Virginia Slices flows into the nose. The very wide, almost square flakes are uniformly light, medium and dark brown marbled and golden speckled. Since the flakes stick relatively firm to one another, they are difficult to remove individually, but with a little practice and the slight drying occurring after the opening of the tin, this is easier to do. The moisture of the Virginia Slices is optimal and the flakes are therefore very elastic.
Plugging:
The Virginia Slices should be plugged carefully, as the tobacco, when too tightly put into the pipe, is more likely to emanate during smoking. Do not over-fill the pipe. For this reason, it is easier to rub the Virginia Slices a little bit, but with some practice it is also possible to bring the flake bend and folded into the pipe.
Light up:
Also, when igniting the Virginia Slices you should be careful. The pressed tobacco rises under the flame, so that you should help yourself with the tamper several times, until after several times of giving fire it has reached an even embers.
Smoking properties:
The efford of the preparation is worthwhile with the Virginia Slices, as one already feels at the first puffing. For a Virginia-Perique, the tobacco surprises with an extraordinary coolness of smoke. As promised by the manufacturer, the Virginia Slices are creamy and mild. Nobody has to expect the feared tongue bite. The tobacco also does not tend to gargling. In the flavors, the Virginia Slices turn out to be a typical Virginia-Perique Mixture, but it provides pleasant toasted notes as well as a surprisingly clear sweetness of dried fruits. After a slow burning down, only some medium-gray ash and almost no condensate remain, so that the cleaning is very simple.
Redolency:
The room note of the Virginia Slices is slightly sweet, but tobacco genuine, so the nature of the environment depends on whether the tobacco is accepted.
Conclusion:
The Virginia Slices is an almost square-cut flake in gold-speckled brown shades, whose smell of sweet dried fruits is also combined with pleasantly mild toasted notes. The manufacturer's statements are true. The Virginia Slices is a mild-creamy tobacco, which brings all the advantages of a Virginia-Perique, but without its disadvantages. If the preparation was a little easier, the Virginia Slices would be a good smoke by the way and also for beginners. The mildness and medium strength make it quite suitable for this and who makes a little effort with the flakes, will find in Virginia Slices a real pleasure.
