Manufacturer Description:
Medium-strength Burley and golden Virginia tobaccos complement each other according to an old Danish recipe to a balanced mixture. This is completed with the fruity aroma of sweet cherries.
Characterisation:
If one chooses the Meine Mischung Rot (i.e. My Mixture Red) in the pouch, then you can take it uncomplicatedly on your way. For longer storage, however, you should choose the larger tin. The loose Mixture is composed evenly of black and medium brown tobacco fibers, under which mixes a good amount of lighter cuts. Freshly opened, Meine Mischung Rot exudes a sweetish fruity scent that seems very natural and reminiscent of dried cherries. The tobacco is only slightly moist when it is first opened, so that it can just be pre-dried briefly before plugging.
Plugging:
As a loose Mixture, Meine Mischung Rot can be plugged loosely down and firmly upwards in the traditional manner. However, you should be careful not to be too firm.
Light up:
After the first flame, gently smoothen the surface with the tamper, and then use the second flame to achieve an uniform glow that holds the Meine Mischung Rot to the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
The smoke of Meine Mischung Rot is mild spicy and characterized by the underlying Virginia of a fine toasted bread note, which mixes pleasantly with the nutty Burley. The cherry aroma is restrained and contributes to the smoke also a sweetness mitigating the spice, which makes the whole course of smoking to be rounded and harmonious. The glowing behavior is calm, but you should now and then push the embers gently with the tamper to the tobacco to achieve an uniform burning. The remaining medium gray ash and the remarkably small amount of condensate for an aromatics are quickly removed from the pipe.
Redolency:
The redolence of Meine Mischung Rot is clearly influenced by the sweet aroma and therefore should not be negative in tolerant society.
Conclusion:
The medium and dark brown Meine Mischung Rot reveals its sweet aroma even in the cold scent. In addition to the basic tobaccos with their nut and toast bread aromas, which already give the impression of a very mild spice, the attached cherry flavor provides a sweet rounding. However, this flavoring is by no means dazzling, but harmoniously integrated into the taste profile. This as well as the quite uncomplicated smoking properties and the moderate strength make the Meine Mischung Rot also suitable for beginners, if they are willing to exercise some care. For more experienced smokers, the Meine Mischung Rot is a balanced flavored tobacco that can be smoked well in between.
