Characterisation:
Once the Odyssey's round tin has been opened, the ring-pull closure can no longer be closed. The additional plastic lid helps with shorter storage, but for a longer period of time you should transfer the tobacco to an airtight container. Under the cover paper there is a fine, light cut, broader black-brown fibers and very dark pieces of Ready Rubbed. The ascending, sweet scent of autumn leaves reveals the oriental tobaccos contained in the Odyssey. The moisture is just right to get the tobacco straight into the pipe.
Plugging:
If you pay attention to the Ready Rubbed contained in the Odyssey and give the tobacco room to develop in a pipe that is not too small, plugging is not too complicated.
Light up:
Since it is not too damp and if plugged carefully, the Odyssey can easily be lit. After the first flame, smooth the surface with the tamper and then create an even glowing surface with the second flame.
Smoking properties:
The Odyssey turns out to be a typically English mixture. The Latakia keeps the smoke cool and in combination with the Oriental and the roasted notes of the Virginias, a powerful spiciness unfolds. Together with the intense note of incense, which has a slightly astringent effect, this results in a classically balanced yet exciting play of aromas. If you haven't plugged it too tightly, then the burning will also be relaxed, so that in the end only some very light-colored, flaky ash will remain to be cleaned.
Redolency:
The room note of the Odyssey is typical of an English blend tart and spicy, so that non-smoking society might feel irritated.
Conclusion:
The Odyssey is made up of a light fine cut, black-brown, coarser fibers and dark Ready Rubbed and already reveals its English character in the smoky cold scent. Carefully plugged, the burning causes hardly any problems, so that one can devote oneself to the classic aromas of incense, roasted notes and intensive spice. The Odyssey is ideal as a tobacco for the later hours of the day and for all lovers of fully aromatic English blends.
