Manufacturer Description:
Blended Bright Virginias, Burley and a Black Cavendish with a dash of sweet cherry and vanilla. A medium strength tobacco with good room-notes.
Characterisation:
The Celtic Talisman is a blend of different wide and long cut tobaccos with bright to dark brown color. It exudes an aromatic, fruity odor, reminiscent of sweet berries with vanilla. The tobacco is velvety soft and feels a bit but not too wet.
Plugging:
The Celtic Talisman can be plugged as a mixture rather good. Due to it's consistency one have only to make sure that the tobacco is not plugged too compressed.
Light up:
Lighting up is a little bit harder. Despite the harmonious tobacco blend the Celtic Talisman initially tends quickly to get out. One should light it up with 1-2 flames, press slightly down with the tamper and then light it up again with another 1-2 flames. Possibly, after a few draws, it may be neccessary to re-ignite again.
Smoking properties:
Although the Celtic Talisman has a relatively strong flavor, it is not dominant when ignited. One can taste the sweet and fruity flavours, but also the nutty-tart taste of the Burley and a slightly sparkling of the Virginia could be recognized. In the case of the Celtic Talisman one should definitely pay attention to the temperature! Too hot smoked the tobacco tastes sourly and tangy with a slight bite on the tongue. Enjoyed with the necessary attention, the taste is very consistent. The tobacco glows down evenly without much condensate until to the end, whereby the strength increas from light to medium. The remaining ash is medium gray with some black speckles.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Celtic Talisman is rather inconspicuous. A sweet fruity scent, mixed with a subtle scent of tobacco combine to form a pleasing overall appearance. A tobacco that should be welcome in any society.
Conclusion:
The Celtic Talisman is a mixture of different width and long cut, light to dark brown tobaccos with a fruity-sweet flavour. The velvety-soft, not too moist tobacco can be plugged good, but it's somewhat difficult to light up. Once brought to a uniform glow, the Celtic Talisman needs a little more attention, so it becomes not too hot. At the appropriate temperature it unfolds both in taste and in the redolence a subtle combination of fruity sweetness and nutty-tart tobacco. In the taste one can remark a slight sparkling of Virginia too. The Celtic Talisman glows evenly without much condensate, and the taste is very consistent. Apart from the required attention in terms of the temperature the tobacco is very good-natured
and appropriate by the interesting taste suitable for both novice and experienced smokers who like light to medium flavours.
