Manufacturer Description:
Irish pure. Produced from traditional mixing methods and old recipes. Best Burley, aromatic Black Cavendish and naturally sweet golden- and red-brown Virginias give this mixture it’s intensive flavour. A rich in contrast mixed cut.
Characterisation:
A bright – to medium-brown Mixture with rather fine cut and a few darker streaks. Opening the tin the strange something peculiar smell of the flavour is noticeable at once. As from the manufacturer announced a secret – in my opinion among sweetly honey apricot is remarkable too, but others describe the flavour more as pineapple. A distinctive flavour, but not displeasing.
Plugging:
Simply and medium compressed, with the smokers preferred method for mixtures, the Erinmore Mixture implicates no problems at all.
Light up:
The tobacco could be lighted up very well, because it doesn’t tend to swell very much. One or two flames are enough, but while smoking it could be necessary to light up the tobacco again.
Smoking properties:
At first there are barely any flavours noticeable – for that this mixture was categorised as “English aromatic”! A smooth taste of Virginia, mixed with some nuttily Burley. Black Cavendish is only to sense through the view of the tobacco and as a rather unobtrusive nuance. A sweetly taste of honey will be noticeable after a few draws and the secret, but surely fruity, flavour is definitely remarkable in the background. This flavour combined with the well-balanced, medium strength makes the tobacco to a smoking pleasure. This impression would last until the end, if the mixture is smoked slowly, even if it’s dieing down sometimes and must be lighted up again. The tobacco doesn’t build up much condensate and the remaining ash is middle grey with a few darker particles.
Redolency:
The redolence is against all expectations not dominated by the flavour. Magnificent, slightly sweet and nuttily smell of tobacco. Pleasing the smoker and his surrounding. From time to time the aromas came to the front, but very unobtrusive. A tobacco, which could be smoked in societies where a discreet aroma and well-smelling tobacco are welcome.
Conclusion:
The Erinmore Mixture is an excellent all-round tobacco. Recommended for both enthusiasts of natured tobaccos and smoker, who’ll prefer a slightly flavoured mixture. A little bit stronger as guessed from the smell, but appropriated to any daytime. Good smoking properties and with good-natured behaviour, whereas one should take care to the temperature, because at higher temperature the tobacco tends to tease the tongue. Due to the unobtrusive, sweet-nuttily redolence the Erinmore Mixture is pleasing the surrounding, too.
