Manufacturer Description:
A 30-year friendship now connects me with Hadde. He is the great communicator in our circle, and that is why "his" tobacco should be something special. Hadde's preference is for the aromatic mixtures. That's why I created a medium-sized Broken Flake for him . Bright and medium brown Virginias from Africa were mixed with a proper portion of Louisiana Perique and Darkfired Kentucky. A refined Casing Irish style, which is always present without dropping the excellent tobacco quality, gives this mixture its speciality. Hadde's Best Irish is a temptation for aromatic lovers as well as for fans of natural tobacco with a desire for small sweets.
Characterisation:
The Haddes Best Irish is a good rubbed, darkbrown Broken Flake with medium brown parts. The fragments are almost dry, but they are well-conditioned and exude a warm, delicate, sweet-smelling scent, reminiscent of chocolate rather than the aroma used by the manufacturer.
Plugging:
Since the Haddes Best Irish is an originally pressed tobacco, the pipe should not be filled to the top edge, nor should it be stuffed too tight, as the tobacco fibers rise under the heat of the flame. Some finer, loose crumbs at the top facilitate the lighting.
Light up:
If the tip of the Haddes Best Irish is covered by the procedure described above, the tobacco is easily ignited: after the first flame, the surface is gently smoothed with the tamper, and the fire is again given to a lasting embers.
Smoking properties:
The Haddes Best Irish from the very beginning, apart from a light roasting note, clearly shows the flavor used. The smoke is sweet honey with slightly nutty notes and a flowery note in the foreground, which plays less in the perfume-like or "soapy" typical Irish flavor, as actually reminiscent of the fragrance of geraniums. This aroma is very intense and persists until shortly before the end of the filling. When the end is reached, then medium gray ash, some unburnt crumbs, and some condensate for cleaning remains.
Redolency:
The room score of the Haddes Best Irish is sweetish and "pipe-typical" for non-smokers, as a result of which this tobacco can be find acceptance in a tolerant society.
Conclusion:
The Haddes Best Irish is a rather dark Broken Flake, whose sweet and appetizing aroma is also found in smoke. Honey, almond and geraniums combine to create a lasting, sweet-flowery aroma that may be of interest to lovers of the typical Irish flavor, as well as sweet-teeth, but even beginners will be able to cope with this not too demanding tobacco. Also a perfect "dessert-tobacco", as not too light and pleasantly fullfilling.
