Rackham
Calico Jack Rackham was known for his colorful attire. He was a pirate captain, a family man, and occasionally submitted to the royal amnesty, only to return to his pirate ways a few days later. A very multifaceted character. So, it's no question that we present you, under the name "Rackham," the most complex blend in our "Caribbean Blue" series. The blend consists of an incredible four cross-blends. This means we produce four complete blends separately and then blend them together. This results in all the flavors kissing your taste buds clearly and intensely. Virginia, Black Cavendish, and Burley are flavored with mango, passion fruit, strawberry, mirabelle plum, and cherry. Broken flakes and cube cuts provide a cool smoking experience. Enjoy this complex, Caribbean-fruity masterpiece.
Characterisation:
Designed in nautical blue, the round tin reflects the series' theme. Caribbean Blue Rackham is nestled in a paper rosette beneath a wrapper. The blend features light, medium, and dark brown tones. The cut is so loose that hardly any flakes or cubes are discernible—the fibers are predominantly short and broad. The rising aroma mingles with a slightly alcoholic note and fruity sweetness. Because the compressed tobacco components contain hardly any residual moisture due to their loose structure, Caribbean Blue Rackham can be given into the pipe immediately.
Plugging:
The rather finely divided blend of Caribbean Blue Rackham makes it easy to fill. Simply pour it loosely into the pipe and then gently press it down. That's all it takes for a good filling.
Light up:
The cut of the Caribbean Blue Rackham also proves its worth under the flame. It burns quickly and only requires a brief smoothing action with the tamper before a second flame creates a steady glow.
Smoking properties:
For a strongly flavored tobacco, it's surprising to actually detect a slight spiciness. The base tobaccos here don't serve solely to carry the casing. Slightly reminiscent of almonds, one might attribute this to the Burley, which is usually associated with nutty flavors. But of course, the flavors are also clearly present. Soft and sweet, they rest on the tongue. Above all, you clearly taste the berries used, while the more exotic fruits remain in the background. The smoking behavior – unusual for such an intensely flavored tobacco – gives no cause for complaint. The same goes for cleaning. The little light, fluffy ash and hardly any condensate are quickly removed.
Redolency:
Strongly flavored blends often arouse less displeasure among non-smokers than natural blends. This is the case with Caribbean Blue Rackham, which could almost be described as fragrant. It's still polite to be considerate of its company.
Conclusion:
In Mediterranean packaging, the Caribbean Blue Rackham promises exotic aromas. Indeed, the fibers, mixed in all shades of brown, smell sweet and alcoholic, like many flavored blends. The fact that the compressed tobaccos are finely ground contributes to the easy preparation and the completely uncomplicated smoking process. You can actually taste the Burley used, reminiscent of almonds. While more exotic fruits like mango and passion fruit remain in the background, cherries and mirabelle plums take center stage, creating a soft sweetness. This will appeal especially to smokers seeking an intensely, but not overly, flavored tobacco with a hint of exoticism. The Caribbean Blue Rackham is beginner-friendly and suitable for any occasion. Even some non-smokers have praised its room note.
