Seegar
After being marooned on Mauritius, Edward Seegar managed to build a raft and sail to Madagascar. To survive, he had to beg for food. An inglorious and distressing end to his pirate career. We're sure this blend would have cheered him up. Golden Virginia, brown Cavendish, and black Cavendish form the backbone of this mix. A creamy aroma of tonka bean is underscored by light citrus notes. A splash of rum and a hint of caramel will have your palate dancing the calypso. And as if that weren't enough, we've added a pinch of Latakia. Don't worry, it's perfectly integrated and gives the whole thing a wonderfully spicy kick.
Characterisation:
The nautically themed, round tin contains a paper rosette sealed with a wrapper leaf. Inside lies Caribbean Blue Seegar, a blend of narrow and broad fibers. The tobacco is a uniform mix of light, medium, and dark brown. Upon opening the tin, a sweet and earthy aroma rises to the nose. The moisture content is such that the Caribbean Blue Seegar does not need to be pre-dried before packing.
Plugging:
Caribbean Blue Seegar tobacco is easy to pack. Just make sure to fill the tobacco loosely at the bottom and gradually firm it up towards the top.
Light up:
The Caribbean Blue Seegar ignites remarkably well even under the first flame. The tamper is simply used to smooth the surface slightly before applying a second, even flame.
Smoking properties:
Despite a certain spiciness, the Caribbean Blue Seegar is not too strong. It also offers a hint of peat and notes reminiscent of nuts. One would never suspect any flavoring, as even the perceptible sweetness seems to originate from the base tobaccos. The Caribbean Blue Seegar burns well, though occasionally you might need to push the ember down with the tamper. Even then, only fine, medium-gray ash remains. This makes cleaning just as easy as the aroma and smoking experience were.
Redolency:
The most noticeable smell in the room is the aroma of the tobacco. If you wish to smoke Caribbean Blue Seegar in the company of non-smokers, you should still be considerate.
Conclusion:
Packaged in the series signature nautical style, the Caribbean Blue Seegar tobacco, with its varying shades of brown and different cut widths, exudes a sweet, earthy aroma. This aroma is as natural as the taste of the smoke itself: spicy, slightly peaty, but not harsh. Tobacco sweetness and roasted notes provide a smoothing effect. Since Caribbean Blue Seegar is relatively easy to smoke, even beginners can enjoy it. While it's not for those with a serious sweet tooth, as its flavoring is subtle, those who appreciate this understated sweetness in a flavored tobacco will find Caribbean Blue Seegar a perfect companion for any occasion.
