Cornell & Diehl
Made in the USA

It's time. The time of waiting is over. Gone are the days when we pipe smokers had to romp around on well-known websites to satisfy our desire - only to find out two weeks later that our eagerly awaited package had fallen into the greedy lap of customs. This quickly raised €45.00 for a 2 oz tin of pipe tobacco. This madness is over now. Because »Kopp Tobaccos« presents »Cornell & Diehl«!

The tobaccos from Longs in South Carolina enjoy great popularity among pipe smokers all over the world and are finally available to the pipe smoker based in Germany.

Successful US business ideas are often born in garages. This is also the case with »Cornell & Diehl«: In 1992 »Craig and Patty Tarler« bought the remains of an old tobacco factory and began to create the first blends in their garage. That wasn't very long ago, but Cornell & Diehl is still an integral part of the international pipe world. After consultation with Cornell & Diehl master blenders, a selection of mixtures was made, with something for everyone. Of course, fans of aromatics are looking forward to the absolute classic, the Autumn Evening. For all fans of Virginia Perique blends there is a handful of tobaccos that should not be missed. The Perique, which »Cornell & Diehl« uses for its mixtures, was particularly impressive in Rellingen. Such a high level of quality is extremely difficult to find and Kopp Tobaccos is very pleased to be able to present the following products from »Cornell & Diehl«.

Nutty Irishman
A delightful blend of Virginia, Burley and Cavendish. The Nutty Irishman from Cornell & Diehl is a pleasant blend of aromas that combines the heavenly hazelnut taste of Frangelico with the honey-sweet spiciness of Irish Mist.

Characterisation:
Once the round tin of the Nutty Irishman has been opened with the ring-pull closure, the tobacco can be closed with the plastic lid. For longer storage you should consider decanting into an airtight container. Beneath the somewhat mottled paperdisc is a broad and short cut mixture of medium and dark brown fibers and lighter flakes. The sweetish scent of nuts is very reminiscent of vanilla cookies. Before plugging, you should let the Nutty Irishman dry for a short time.

Plugging:
It is best to bring the Nutty Irishman into the pipe loosely at the bottom and becoming slightly firmer towards the top. This is very easy to do thanks to the loose cut. However, you should avoid tamping too tightly in order to ensure an even burn.

Light up:
If you have let the Nutty Irishman dry for a short time, then two flames are enough to ignite the tobacco. The first flame prepares the bed of embers, after gently pressing down with the tamper, the second flame ensures an evenly glowing surface.

Smoking  properties:
The Nutty Irishman smoke is rich and almost creamy. It flows over the tongue like warm milk and spoils you with the aromas of nuts that are already announced in the cold scent. Since the tobacco needs some experience when plugging, it can happen that you occasionally have to use additional flames. The smoke remains mild, soft and sweet. There is also no need to worry about gargling or biting your tongue, because otherwise the Nutty Irishman smokes down easily without losing its aroma. After extinguishing it leaves only some medium gray ash. This also makes cleaning easy.

Redolency:
The room note of the Nutty Irishman is characterized by the aroma. The sweet vanilla cookie smell can also appeal to non-smokers. Consideration is of course still indicated.

Conclusion:
The Nutty Irishman's predominantly medium brown mix requires some attention in preparation. But then it convinces with an aroma that is intense and clear already in the cold scent. And that's how it tastes: creamy, soft smoke that caresses the palate with sweetness and nutty notes and doesn't weigh it down. This makes the Nutty Irishman an ideal tobacco for lovers of flavored blends and is also recommended as a dessert tobacco or a treat in between.
