Dreams of Kadath
Your journey to Kadath will not be easy. Before you descend the steps to the dreamlands, prepare for your expedition with this fragrant blend of Dark-Fired Kentucky, Katerini, Perique, Virginia, Burley and Black Cavendish. Inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft, Dreams of Kadath is an enchanting blend that brings to the fore the countless components available to C&D: carefully balancing each component, the complexity and individual nuances of each variety are particularly emphasized.
Characterisation:
The Dreams of Kadath is packaged in the company's typical small, round tin. A ring-pull closure is hidden under a plastic lid. Since the tin can no longer be sealed completely airtight, you should transfer the tobacco to another container if you want to store it for a longer period of time. The plug is wrapped in cardboard under a cover sheet with the company logo. It fills the tin as thick as a finger and has an almost square base area. The plug was pressed from large leaves. In cross section, the Dreams of Kadath is marbled in dark and medium brown and streaked with golden yellow veins and speckles. The scent is strikingly subtle and is reminiscent of the vapor rising from a whiskey glass. Since the tobacco contains residual moisture, if you have cut a portion of the plug, you can let it dry a little before plugging the Dreams of Kadath.
Plugging:
Since the Dreams of Kadath is a plug, you have to prepare the tobacco before plugging. This requires some experience and a sharp knife. So you can cut flakes of the desired thickness from the tobacco block. However, these are so crumbly that they are more likely to be put into the pipe as Broken Flake or Ready Rubbed. But this is also what makes it so appealing, as it encourages experimentation. This is the best way to find out what you like. As with other compressed tobaccos, you should be careful to leave space in the pipe for Dreams of Kadath.
Light up:
The Dreams of Kadath stands up under the first flame. You should then use the tamper to thoroughly smooth the surface again before using another flame to ensure an even glow.
Smoking properties:
The Dreams of Kadath appears lush in the smoke. First of all, you can taste the spicy Kentucky. This harmonizes with the even toasted bread note, with hints of dark chocolate mixed in as you puff it comfortably. Although the manufacturer doesn't mention any aroma, you can taste blackcurrants. And surprisingly clear. - Mysterious, but that's what the Dreams of Kadath is supposed to be... You can devote yourself to this interesting taste in a relaxed manner, because the burning of the Dreams of Kadath is calm and without complications. Cleaning the pipe doesn't require much either. Only some coarse medium gray ash and a few unburned crumbs need to be removed.
Redolency:
The room note of Dreams of Kadath is natural. Non-smoking people could feel disturbed by this, this should be taken into account.
Conclusion:
The Dreams of Kadath plug is aimed at those smokers who want to dedicate themselves to a rustic form of tobacco. This requires more intensive preparation, but offers the opportunity to experiment. So you shouldn't be too inexperienced. The Dreams of Kadath is also a rather strong tobacco, whose intense smoke contains the surprising aroma of cassis in addition to spicy roasted bread notes and bitter chocolate tones. These dark overtones not only please smokers of intense blends, they also fit the theme of the Lovecraft stories. A comfortable armchair and a good book are certainly not the worst companions for this unusual tobacco.
