San Cristobal De La Habana
San Cristóbal de La Habana – A Brand Tribute to Havana
San Cristóbal de La Habana was the original name of Havana, the capital of Cuba, when it was founded in 1519. The city was named in honor of San Cristóbal, known in English as Saint Christopher, because the city’s founding coincided with the feast day of San Cristóbal. Incidentally, La Habana is an indigenous term for "place." The brand San Cristóbal de La Habana was introduced in 1999, just before the turn of the millennium, to honor the city's long history. The cigar sizes La Fuerza, La Punta, and El Príncipe were each named after one of the fortresses of Havana, built between the 16th and 18th centuries.
The fortresses served the Spanish colonial rulers in defending the city against potential attacks. The brand was launched shortly before the turn of the millennium. All sizes contain filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco-growing region and are totalmente a mano, tripa larga—completely handmade long fillers.
Strength: mild to medium.
