Manufacturer Description:
The Original Blend of 1848. Mature Red Motted Leaf from North Carolina backed by Black Cavendish and Turkish of Macedonia are blended with a full proportion of Leaf Latakia to produce a blend which has given quiet satisfaction to smokers fro well over a century.
Characterisation:
The Scottish Blend is a rather fine cut, coloured tobacco mixture from bright to dark brown. The smell is spicy and definitely affected by Latakia. The tobacco feels a little bit damply and it couldn’t be wrong to let it dry a few minutes before plugging.
Plugging:
Due to the rather fine cut this tobacco could be plugged very well in pipes with any dimension.
Light up:
The Scottish Blend is easy to light up. After the first flame it could be necessary to flatten with the tamper and then bring up the final glow.
Smoking properties:
This tobacco is definitely affected by Latakia. Full-bodied, but anyway mild in taste. Due the humidity a little bit condensate is build, what isn’t any problem by smoking with filter. By pipes without filter it may be necessary to dry the air-flow in between with a cleaner, what hasn’t any influence of the smoking pleasure. The Scottish Blend glows down good-natured to a balance of medium grey ash. The taste is comfortable spicy and unobtrusive.
Redolency:
The redolence is definitely affected by Latakia too. Nevertheless the smell of this English mixture isn’t unobtrusive. A lightly sweetness makes this tobacco conditionally socially acceptable.
Conclusion:
A pleasing English Latakia mixture, which is slightly damply but very good-natured. Both taste and redolence betray definitely Latakia, but sweet nuances combine with the smoky smell to an more acceptable redolence as most of other Latakia mixtures. The tobacco glows good-natured with a little bit of condensate, but over all it’s easy to handle. Strength and taste are full-bodied, but affect anyhow mild and pleasing. No partial spikes are remarkable. A good tobacco to smoke by the way and the acceptance in societies is astonishing – what should not deceive, that societies, where Latakia is unwanted would make an exception for this tobacco...
