Manufacturer Description:
Black and gentle, full-bodied and sweet. A velvety-soft and fragrant mixture of an aromatic Black Cavendish, gently lightened with golden Virginia. Clean, even burning thanks to different cutting widths. For medium to large pipes.
Characterisation:
You can use the plastic lid to close the small round tin again after you have opened the thick aluminum foil that seals Swatte Deern. If you want to store the tobacco for a longer period of time, you should still consider transferring it to a more airtight container. The tin shows a medium and dark brown mixture that has a smaller proportion of lighter fibers. These are cut rather short and slightly wider. If you sniff the tin, you will notice a sweet, dry scent that is reminiscent of sawn wood. Since the moisture content is optimal, Swatte Deern can be given into the pipe immediately.
Plugging:
Swatte Deern's short cut makes plugging easy. The fibers can be easily filled in loosely and then plugged as they get tighter towards the top.
Light up:
Setting fire to Swatte Deern also requires little efford. Pressed briefly, a second flame creates an even glow on the surface.
Smoking properties:
Swatte Deern is smoky and spicy in a tart way. This is rather unusual for a tobacco based on Black Cavendish. The lush smoke coats the mouth in an astringent manner. A piquant impression, almost salty-sour, unusual, vaguely reminiscent of walnuts. Burley probably plays just as much of a role here as selected Virginias. There are also impressions of smoldering wood and a subtle sweetness that rounds off this extraordinary play of aromas. After an uncomplicated burning, cleaning up some flaky, gray ash doesn't take much effort, too.
Redolency:
Since Swatte Deern is natural and the unusual aromas can also be found in the smoke, you should take sensitive noses into account.
Conclusion:
In darker brown tones and a rather wide cut, Swatte Deern presents itself as a dark mixture with the same aroma. The predominant taste is a bitter, spicy one that is reminiscent of walnuts and smoked wood. In combination with a restrained, natural-looking sweetness, the result is an uncomplicated yet exciting taste profile that is more suitable for the later hours of the day. Beginners are also advised to be careful, because Swatte Deern is strong and a challenge of taste for which you should take your time.
