Manufacturer Description:
In 2007, the “Hamburg Pipe Round of 1982” celebrated its 25th anniversary. This occasion deserved special recognition, and so Jürgen Westphal created another exclusive mixture. It also has an “English” tinge of Latakia, but offers even more delicately spicy and gentle enjoyment than the first composition.
Characterisation:
The round tin with pressure lid of the Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend contains an even mix of light, medium and dark brown tobacco fibers. These are mainly narrow, some a little longer, but there is also a fluffy cut mixed in. The scent wafting into your nose from the opened tin is reminiscent of a fruity red wine. That makes you curious. The tobacco is slightly clammy on your fingers when you take it out, so you should let the portion dry briefly before plugging it.
Plugging:
The Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend can be plugged quite easily in the tried and tested manner. Add it loosely and press it lightly on top to create a good filling.
Light up:
Here too, the Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend makes it easy for the smoker. If the embers have gone out after the first flame, press the tobacco down with the tamper and light it again to achieve an even bed of embers.
Smoking properties:
Despite its mildness, the Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend is still spicy. The Latakia used can be felt here. As does the slightly astringent impression that the smoke creates on the tongue. The Virginia that was certainly used is probably responsible for the clear roasted bread note. What is more surprising is the subtle, natural-looking sweetness reminiscent of dark forest fruits. Think of the scent of blackcurrants and blackberries. However, you shouldn't be tempted to puff on the pipe too greedy. On the one hand, this does not make the aroma any more intense, and on the other hand, the Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend can gargle a little. It may also be necessary to use another flame occasionally. But that doesn't detract from the taste. If you are a bit careful, in the end you will only have few light ash with a little condensate to clean.
Redolency:
Despite the moderate use of Latakia, which is also presented in the room, you should still take sensitive noses into account when smoking the Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend.
Conclusion:
The cold scent of berry red wine in the Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend, which is made up of different shades of brown, can also be found in the smoke. While Latakia and Virginia contribute mild spice and strong roasted bread, something else makes the Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend special. It is the naturally composed aroma of dark, delicately sweet wild berries. You should enjoy this consciously, because then the Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend makes the best impression. Anyone who can do this and appreciates unusual English blends will certainly have a good experience with the Hamburger Pfeifenrunde Jubiläums-Blend.
