Characterisation:
The MyMixture BB1938 is typical english cut fine and shows a balanced light-, deer- and black-brown mixture. It's pretty firmly pressed into the can, which helps to keep the - by first opening - almost ideal humidity. The fragrance reveals at once the powerful English, with the perceived by many as strong smell of Latakia: tart and to damp autumn leaves. With some attention, there is a smoky sweetness that is similar to the smell of maple syrup. The tobacco can be stuffed immediately thanks to its nearly perfect conditioning.
Plugging:
You should plug the MyMixture BB1938 as usual for a loose mixture, from the bottom up toward becoming tighter. Upon further smoking you can occasionally use the sheer weight of the tamper (no pressure!) to bring the embers closer to tobacco.
Light up:
One to two flames and a gently smoothening of the surface with the tamper are sufficient to bring the MyMixture BB1938 to a uniform glow that lasts until the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
The MyMixture BB1938 fills the mouth with a creamy dense smoke. It is very spicy, may well tingle on the tongue peppery and has smoky roasted aromas as the used little sweet Virginias promise. The Latakia stays in the background - no intrusive ethereal incense, but a tart spiciness, as from salty liquorice. Even towards the end comes, there is no bitterness, on the contrary now permeates through a shiny sweetness that recalls in combination with the spices of Latakia to the already sniffed maple syrup and this without flavors being used. Smoked not too eager, the result is as good as no condensate and also the fine, bright ash mixed with a few dark particles hardly makes work during cleaning.
Redolency:
The MyMixture BB1938 is a typical English tobacco and it smells like that! This can provide significant irritation especially in non-smoking society. For a walk in the fresh air or in a group of like-minded people it recommends more likely.
Conclusion:
The MyMixture BB1938 shows the typical coloring of English tobaccos, a rather finely chopped mix of light and dark brown. Even the smell is unmistakable, both in the box, as well as in the room. Perfect moisture, simple plugging and ignition, as well as the excellent smoking behavior testify to a high quality tobacco. The rich flavors range from peppery spice on tart licorice aromas to a surprising sweetness that makes this tobacco to a varied experience. Still, it is not too heavy, so the MyMixture BB1938 can be recommended even ambitious beginners. Experienced smokers are anyway pleased to see a once again successful remake of a classic from the renowned house of Dunhill.
