Manufacturer Description:
"Danish type mixture" of light Virginia and exquisite Black Cavendish tobaccos. An intense vanilla aroma gives the mixture a very pleasant scent and its special taste.
Characterisation:
Since the Original Danish Type is packaged in a pouch, the tobacco is well suited to be taken with one uncomplicated. For longer storage, however, the tobacco should be transferred to a more tightly closeable container. The Original Danish Type is longer and slightly wider cut and shows predominantly lighter golden brown tobacco fibers, under which evenly black-brown fibers mix, but sometimes coarser pieces and also leaf ribs are found. The sweet scent immediately reveals the vanilla flavor used, reminiscent of pastry with vanilla filling. Since the tobacco is well conditioned, it does not need to be pre-dried before being plugged.
Plugging:
Although the Original Danish Type, although containing larger components, can be plugged as usual for loose Mixtures. An uniform burning is obtained by starting loosely down and ending with gentle pressure.
Light up:
If smoothened the surface after the first flame gently with the tamper, so you can reach with the second flame, an uniform embers, which the Original Danish Type holds until the end of the filling.
Smoking properties:
If you are expecting a strong aromatic by sniffing the intense vanilla aroma, the Original Danish Type will surprise you a bit. Although a slight vanilla sweetness is always present, it is predominantly the pleasant impression of lushness and fullness that springs not so much from vanilla, but from a juiciness with which the smoke seems to fill your mouth. The aromas are rather tart, spicy and even woody, but nicely rounded in combination with the full-bodied aroma. The burning is quiet despite the different sized ingredients and accompanied to the last third by the aroma, before the tobacco gets a little tart and then soon goes out. The remaining ash is medium gray and, together with the little condensate, does not require much cleaning.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Original Danish Type reminds non-smokers by the sweetish aroma of "typical pipe fragrance", so that the tobacco should not stand out negatively.
Conclusion:
Even if coarser pieces of leaves mix under the light and dark brown Original Danish Type, it does not cause any major problems with plugging and lighting. The moderate strength makes it quite suitable for beginners, provided they are not just looking for a sweet aromatic. Even more experienced smokers will be surprised by the harmonious combination of different flavors. The vanilla flavoring serves more to round off in the background, while superficial lushness with spice, softness with tartness and woodiness with juiciness balance out. This creates an interesting course of smoke that you can treat yourself uncomplicatedly at any time, but also invites you to relaxed enjoyment.
