Manufacturer Description:
The balanced mixture is made up of exquisite Virginia tobaccos from the best provenances and a carefully prepared Black Cavendish. A powerful yet well rounded blend.
Characterisation:
As soon as the round tin of the Mixture is opened and you have unfold the paper rosette, you will see a snow-white cover sheet with a pretty illustration of a tobacco plant. Among them is a mixture of medium-fine tobaccos. There are mostly golden, medium and light brown tobaccos, mixed with regularly distributed single dark brown fibers. The scent is sweet and somewhat reminiscent of multivitamin juice, as is the case with some Virginias. Since the Mixture is neither too wet nor too dry, it can be plugged immediately after opening.
Plugging:
The rather fine and short cut of the Mixture makes plugging easy. If you start loosely at the bottom and grow gently firmer towards the top, you will achieve a good filling.
Light up:
Since the Mixture comes out of the tin with good moisture, it is easy to light. The short fibers quickly take on the flame. If you then gently smooth the surface again with the tamper, the second flame creates a lasting ember.
Smoking properties:
The Mixture is dominated by Virginia. This is a naturally sweet variant with nutty toasted notes, but also shows slightly grassy-sour tips. Especially as the smoke progresses, slightly cigar-spicy aromas are added, which move in the spectrum between wood, dark chocolate and earthy. The Black Cavendish rounds off with some fruit and gives the smoke a soft depth that is good for the Virginia. The predominant use of Virginia is also responsible for not being too careless when smoking, as the tobacco can get hot if you puff too hard. If you keep this in mind, the Mixture does not overwhelm you with its aroma or with a lot of nicotine and smokes down so relaxed without having to light it more often. At the end, nothing is left but some medium gray ash, making the cleaning as enjoyable as the smoke.
Redolency:
The room note of the Mixture is natural, but not overly conspicuous, so that tolerant society could not find it disturbing.
Conclusion:
The Mixture is dominated by light brown tobaccos from Virginia with some dark Cavendish. The finer cut type ensures easy plugging, lighting and smoking. If you are careful, you will taste naturally sweet smoke, with roasted notes mixing with darker aromas that are vaguely reminiscent of good, spicy cigars. The moderate strength and frugal burn ensure that this classic blend can be smoked all day long.
