The Tigray is a medium strong Latakia mixture. Cypriot Latakia, Oriental tobaccos, a hint of Malawi Burley and sweet Zimbabwean Virginiagrades characterize this Mixture. Harmoniously coordinated, the Tigray surprises with smoky, sweet flavors. The Tigray is an uncomplicated, nuanced Latakiablend of the sweeter kind.
The tin of the Collaboration Tigray is closed with a pressure lid and is so well suited to store the tobacco for a long time. The tobacco fibers are cut rather long and narrow and offset by the Latakias of dark or black-brown color, with medium and light brown proportions. The tart-sweet, smoky fragrance also reveals the contained oriental tobaccos. Since the tobacco is somewhat moist between the fingers, it can be allowed to dry for about one hour before being stuffed.
As usual with loose Mixtures, the Collaboration Tigray can be quite simply stuffed: starting loosely down and getting tighter upwards.
After the first flame, flatten the surface with the tamper and give fire again to get the Collaboration Tigray to an even glow.
The Collaboration Tigray offers in the smoke a very balanced ratio of spicy tobacco and the ethereal notes of the Latakia. While these incense-like aromas contribute a certain lightness, the spiciness is slightly resinous and reminiscent of licorice. Since this is accompanied by a very fine sweetness, the result is an intense, but at the same time varied taste. The burn is very even and leaves fine, light ash and a bit of condensate.
Due to the content of Latakia and Oriental, the Collaboration Tigray is more suitable for the company of lovers of English tobaccos due to its resulting intense redolence.
The Collaboration Tigray is a dark, smoky-smelling Blend that is easy to stuff and smoke. This would make it easy to smoke the tobacco by the way. But this would be a pity, because it delivers a balanced taste, which you should definitely take time to enjoy. The aromas oscillate between tart-smoky spiciness and ethereal lightness, with a hint of sweetness. Especially the resinous notes of the Oriental and the tartness reminiscent of liquorice are unusual and distinguish the tobacco from other English blends. The Collaboration Tigray is therefore not a typical representative of the English direction, but will convince both beginners and more experienced smokers.
