In Swahili, the language of East Africa, "Kiboko" is the name of the hippo. For years, mischievously smiling, the artistic sculpture of a hippo greets the customers in our staircase. As a symbol of abundant bliss, she is the godfather of this tobacco. Full-bodied taste is exactly what distinguishes this blend of African tobaccos. KIBOKO is dominated by a full-bodied yet gentle Black Cavendish mixed with a portion of Virginia. A rather short midsection, refined with the flowery aromas of cherry blossoms and lychees. Look forward to a very fine enjoyment with a pleasantly friendly scent.
The Kiboko is more like a Loose Cut, than a Ready Rubbed, but the fibers are rather wide and cut longer and are of medium and dark brown color. Underneath, some lighter specks mix. The scent of the tobacco is reminiscent of cherries, which is not surprising, since it is flavored with cherry blossoms. In addition, but also a slightly spicy component comes into play, which can probably be attributed to the tobaccos. Since the tobacco looks a bit damp, you should let it dry a little before you bring it into the pipe.
The Kiboko, like other loose Mixtures, can be quite easily plugged, starting looser down and becoming tighter at the top. You do not have to pay more to achieve an uniform burning.
Like the plugging, igniting the Kiboko requires little attention. To be on the safe side, after the first flame, gently press the filling with the tamper and re-ignite evenly, but then you can really relax.
The Kiboko shows its aroma very clearly. So the smoke is intense sweet, with a strong fruity note, mix in the lychee and cherry. However, more the fruit, than the flowers, which does not detract from the taste. The basic tobaccos keep discreetly in the background. At most, a fine hay-like seasoning can be seen. But keeps the fruity-sweet aroma until almost the end of the filling. Unlike many representatives of the aromatic direction, the Kiboko hardly causes any problems in the burning. Neither do you have to fear tongue burn nor gargling, as the tobacco barely gets hot and can be smoked very comfortably. Back then only a little medium gray ash and a little condensate remains, but can be removed very easily.
The smoke of the Kiboko may be reminiscent of a pleasant "typical pipe smell", especially due to the cherry flavor, which may make it suitable for a tolerant society.
The rather loose cut of Kiboko makes the tobacco easy to prepare. And even in the pipe the medium and dark brown tobacco makes no problems. While you use it relaxed, you can enjoy - without the usual nonsense - a strong sweet-fruity aroma, which will appeal especially to the sweet-toothed persons under the pipe smokers. If you are not looking for the usual cherry tobacco and at the same time you appreciate an uncomplicated course of smoking in all respects, you will only be satisfied with the Kiboko. The fact that the tobacco is suitable for every occasion, since it hardly strains - even the environment is not disturbed - is another plus that could make the difference.
