Selected red mottled leaf from Carolina rich in flavour and oils, small Oriental leaves from Macedonia of piquant aroma and bright nut flavoured broad leaf from Virginia all combine to form the framework of this blend. All are left in bulk to merge and finally a quantity of pure Louisiana Perique is added. This blend is then hard pressed as in the old maritime method of carrottes, hydraulics taking the place of spun yarn and muscle. The resulting "cake" is then cut and stove to impart a light toasting effect and packed. Surley one of the most popular tobaccos of all it brings back flavours long since forgotten in today´s mass produced subtitutes.
The Old London Pebble Cut is a flake off about 4 cm width and 36 cm long ropes which are lying carefully rolled up in a high tin. The ropes are flecked from gold-yellow to dark brown and exude a tobacco-real, spicy and slightly acid smell. The consistency is rather solid and the humidity optimal.
The Old London Pebble of Cut can be plugged well in different ways. Either after the kink-and-fold-method or rubbed off. Through the long ropes, also the optimal length could be pulled off and turned as bundle into the tobacco-chamber. It is important in every case that one doesn't plug too firmly since the tobacco still extends while glowing down. In order to ease light up, one can take a few smaller tobacco-crumbs for the last layer.

One can also recognize a light spiciness from Orient and a chocolate-like grade which are rounding off the scent.
