In the flake format, this can be a little tricky to use, first, they are very moist so getting the right humidity level is the first challenge and I say challenge because it's not all water your trying to get rid of, it's the natural oils in the tobacco. Get this right and you'll be hooked. Second, the thickness of the flakes vary, this is because Sam Gawith uses the same machinery it opened its doors with circa 1792 and the flakes are cut mainly by hand. This is one of the finest tobaccos to cellar and I'm down to my last 500 grams of 10 year old flake. If like me, you enjoy a plug tobacco, try this, the moisture content is superb in plug format. If on the other hand, flakes are for you, then FVF will not be beat.
