Manufacturer Description:
Selected imported tobaccos and the fresh-fruity taste of the exotic mango give this Mixture its unique character. Independent and pleasant fragrance with a special aroma. Ready cut.
Characterisation:
The Mixture No. 2 is described by the manufacturer as Ready Cut and shows in the pouch as a mixture of narrow cut black brown and slightly more medium brown, yellow speckled, overall well grated Ready Rubbed. If you do not want to just put the tobacco in your bag, but for storing it longer, it is advisable to take the larger tin or to fill the open tobacco in a tightly closeable container. The sweet and fruity fragrance immediately makes you think of mango beeing curious about the taste. Since the tobacco is not too moist, it can be plugged without pre-drying.
Plugging:
The Mixture No. 2, though well worn, proves somewhat bulky and should be plugged carefully. Above all, you should not choose the pipe too small or fill it up to the top edge, as the tobacco needs space to unfold. Balancing the right pressure is crucial for a good burning and requires some practice.
Light up:
Although the Mixture No. 2 is rubbed out well, yet the pressed tobacco fibers expand under the flame strongly and it may take some experiments until the surface is prepared with the help of the tamper so far that an uniform ember bed is created.
Smoking properties:
If you expect a strong flavored tobacco, you will be surprised by the smoke of Mixture No. 2. Because it supplies first of all a dark spice, which certainly is due to the contained Oriental. In addition, the Virginia makes noticeable with strong toasted notes. These powerful flavors are held together by the soft, profound sweetness, which is not as intense as the cold fragrance would suggest. But it accompanies almost the entire course of smoking, before in the end the basic tabaccos stand out. In between, it is sometimes necessary to bring the embers closer to the tobacco with the aid of the tamper in order to allow an uniform burning. The remaining dark gray ash and the little condensate, however, make remarkably little work during the cleaning.

Conclusion:
The medium and dark brown Ready Rubbed, though slim-cut and finely rubbed out, is not easy to plug and light. Even in the smoke, the Mixture No. 2 sometimes needs the help of the tamper, so it is not suitable for quite inexperienced smoker, despite the moderate strength. But if you put a bit of effort into it and do not expect any heavy aromatics in view of the appetizing sniff of mango, you can look forward to a full-bodied smoke, in which the Oriental combines with the roasted notes of Virginia and the fruity mango sweetness in the background rounds off, so that the tobacco does not get too rough. Here subtle flavoring and natural tobacco aromas perfectly balance each other - something that even more experienced smokers will appreciate.
