The entire line is made from 100 percent Dominican tobaccos, grown on the family’s own Chateau de la Fuente plantation. OpusX was the first puro from the Dominican Republic and remains the only brand rolled entirely with Dominican tobaccos. How Fuente Fuente OpusX got its name Since father and son worked as a real team, they quickly agreed that their last name should appear twice on the new cigar – Fuente Fuente. The rest of the name came much later. “Opus” is the Latin word for obra, the Spanish term for masterpiece, and was chosen to symbolize the cigar’s superior quality. The “X” comes from “Project X”, the working title under which they began growing tobacco on Dominican soil.
