Expected from early May 2023, the limited VegaFina Fortaleza 2 Doble Capote will be available in selected specialist tobacco shops across Germany. As the name suggests – capote being the Spanish word for binder – this new Edición Limitada is distinguished by the use of two different binder leaves.
These binders, one from the Dominican Republic and one from Nicaragua, carefully selected from the best tobacco-growing regions of both countries, are wrapped in an Ecuadorian wrapper. The filler consists of a blend of Dominican tobaccos aged for at least 4 years. The result is a wonderfully complex and well-balanced cigar. The Doble Capote is offered in the 5 7/8 x 54 box-pressed Magnum Extra format. It is the very first box-pressed VegaFina ever. Each cigar was pressed in molds at the Tabacalera de García factory in La Romana, Dominican Republic, for 30 to 60 minutes. This results in a slower and more even burn, which beautifully highlights and intensifies the tobacco flavors.
Each VegaFina Fortaleza 2 Doble Capote comes with an additional band and is presented in an elegant box of 12 cigars. The retail price is €9.90 per cigar or €118.80 for the box of 12.
Taste: earthy and roasted, with a mineral note. The aftertaste reveals notes of nuts, cloves, coffee, and cocoa.
