Foundation Olmec Claro Grande – A tribute to the cradle of tobacco The Olmec Claro Grande by Foundation Cigars is a profound reference to the Olmecs, one of the oldest civilizations in the Americas, based in Mexico's San Andrés Valley – the very place where some of the world's finest wrapper leaves grow today. Founder Nick Melillo has created a series that perfectly celebrates the connection between Mexican heritage and Nicaraguan craftsmanship. The centerpiece of this Grande in the massive Gordo format (152.0 mm x 23.8 mm) is the light Mexico San Andrés (Claro) wrapper. Following the harvest, it undergoes a slow fermentation process at low temperatures to preserve delicate oils and complex flavors. Inside, a blend of premium Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa, aged for three years, provides a medium-to-full-bodied profile. Aficionados can expect a harmonious mix of earthy notes, toasted nuts, and a fine natural sweetness, all remaining exceptionally cool and voluminous due to the 60 ring gauge.
