VAUEN Anniversary Pipe 175 Years with Tamper 9mm Filter

175 years after the foundation year 1848, VAUEN fulfilled one of their heart’s desires with the new limited anniversary edition. For the first time in VAUEN’s history, these 175 unique pieces are crafted completely by hand. Woods of the highest quality level PLS form the basis for this breathtaking model.

The unique shape is pencilled on every piece of wood, in observance of the grain pattern, and carefully worked out by hand. The fine sterling silver ring at the stem is given a stylus engraving ‘175 Years’. The hand-cut rubber mouthpiece with its crescent-shaped bit completes the appealing lines of this anniversary pipe. The bright red, waxed finish intensifies the grain. The ‘traditional authenticity’ of the numbered individual pieces is confirmed by a certificate and a stamp on the stem that shows our tradition.

The anniversary pipe, which is strictly limited to 175 pieces, is delivered in a set together with a hand-turned tamper with a sterling silver tamper-plate in the 175-year design and a decorative box exclusively manufactured for us by the Bavarian wood manufactory Liebich.

Full enjoyment from the very beginning

 VAUEN pipes don´t have to be slowly broken in over a long time because the wood is protected
by a special lining in the tobacco bowl.

Even by temperatures of 300 to 400°C, which occurs when lighting, cannot harm the pipe.

Tip number 3

Achieve natural beauty

 To make a pipe even more beautiful, the grain of the pipe is taken into account during production.

There are two classic grain patterns:

the straight grain and the bird´s eye grain.

In order to achieve these, the raw briar blocks from which the pipe is created,
needs th be cut along the natural grain course.

Tip number 4

Sandblasting makes the most of the grain of the pipe

A pipe bowl which has a beautiful grain but with inherent imperfections is sandblasted.
In the process the softer parts of the surface are washed out the harder relief.

The advantages are, as with rusticated pipes, a greater ruggedness and a cooler smoking pleasure.
