Designated for the Coming Home is the play with various ready rubbed Virginias, whose special feature is their high sugar content. A harmonious match of the components results from the incorporation of finely dosed notes of Burley, honey flavor and the minimal addition of rose oil. This sweet blend, with subtle, floral background notes, lets you taste summer directly with its carefree lightness and actual scents. Endless summer for the whole year - with the "Coming Home"!
The Coming Home is in a round box. If you open the paper rosette and remove the cardboard cover, you will find that it shows no signs of moisture. The underlying tobaccos are predominantly light to medium brown and narrow and cut rather short. The Ready Rubbed is so finely prepared that only few pieces can be seen. A few dark and very long fibers are mixed in underneath. The intense scent that rises into the nose is floral-sweet of roses, as can be expected from the aromatization. In addition, there is also a more fruity aroma that vaguely reminds of fine soap with citrus notes. Since the humidity of the mixture is almost perfect, the Coming Home can be given into the pipe immediately after opening the tin.
As usual with Ready Rubbed or mixes with it, the Coming Home should be plugged with some attention. It is advisable to start loosely at the bottom, being careful not to put too much tobacco in the pipe. If you then end with gentle pressure, the result is an even burning.
Like plugging, lighting the Coming Home requires attention, too. Once the surface has been ignited carefully and evenly, the filling is gently smoothed with the tamper and the second flame is used to create a permanent ember.
Coming Home also exhibits a sweet, floral aroma when ignited. It is not as strongly perfumed as some Irish blends for which this is typical. The fresh, light rose note harmonises pleasantly with the sweetness, which can also be traced back to the mild basic tobacco. The Coming Home is not particularly snappy, but it is one of those flavored tobaccos that should be kept cool when smoking. If the Coming Home gets too hot, it loses its taste. That would be a pity, because if smoked attentively, it retains its unobtrusive rose note until the last third of the filling. In the end, only some medium gray ash and a little condensate remain in the pipe, which does not cause much trouble when cleaning.
The room note of the Coming Home is characterized by the sweet rose aroma, so that the tobacco can also meet with goodwill in non-smoking company.
The Coming Home is aimed at more experienced smokers, as both its preparation and smoking require a little attention. If the Ready Rubbed is well plugged and kept cool, the Coming Home shows an unusual and finely balanced aroma of roses and sweetness. Chasing this in the not-too-heavy smoke is a pleasure, but not necessarily something to pursue on the side in everyday life. Lovers of Irish blends will certainly enjoy the Coming Home and some non-smoking society can also - thanks to the lovely aroma - gain something from the tobacco.
