A treat with the genuine flavor of the Caribbean. Nutty-spicy Burleys, sweet Virginia's and tobaccos from the best provenances in the world have been refined with real Jamaica rum.
Especially packaged in a pouch, the Caribbean Blend in the pouch is good to take away, while you can store the tobacco in the larger tin better. In the pouch, the Caribbean Blend appears tightly pressed and must first be loosened, then shows its rippling and long cut light and medium brown tobaccos in which mix only a few dark brown fibers. The aroma used gives the tobacco a sweetish-alcoholic scent and is reminiscent of a fruity rum pot. Despite the firm pressing the tobacco is not pappy and can be plugged immediately.
Due to the very long-fibered cut the Caribbean Blend proves to be a bit bulky when plugging. Here one should proceed attentively, as this also influences the burning. Under no circumstances should you proceed too firmly, but you should not fill the pipe too loosely, as this could otherwise negatively affect the burning. With a little practice, however, it succeeds quickly to find the right mediocrity.
The long tobacco fibers of the Caribbean Blend swell under the flame and must be pushed back gently with the tamper. This can still be necessary once or twice until an uniform surface of embers has emanated.
The smoke of the Caribbean Blend is tobacco-spicy, with a very smoky note, which harmonizes with the natural nut and toasted bread flavors of the basic tobaccos. Too heavily smoked, the tobacco can sometimes tingle on the tongue. However, if you keep the Caribbean Blend cool and smoking it relaxed, swinging mentally in the hammock, you can taste the fine sweet aroma of a spicy Jamaican rum. This aroma also lasts until the last third of the filling, but for a better burning, the embers should often be pressed against the tobacco with the tamper. The only thing left is a dark gray ash and - for a flavored tobacco very surprising - almost no condensate, which makes the cleaning of the pipe very pleasant.
The redolence of the Caribbean blend is more likely to be called for tobacco and only slightly influenced by the sweetish aroma, so that the tobacco needs tolerant society, you would not like to attract attention.
The Caribbean Blend requires an attentive and not too inexperienced smoker, as its very long-crinkly cut both when plugging as well as the ignition requires some care and should not be smoked too hot, if you do not want to spoil the pleasant spicy rum flavor. It also blends in with the natural nut and roast aromas of the Burleys and Virginia, showing that a flavor does not have to be superficial, but is more pleasing when it accompanies and highlights the basic tobaccos. The Caribbean blend could be almost a bit too tart for the sweet-teeth, but lovers of stronger Mixtures (or spicy rums) will certainly like to be convinced of this tobacco.
