"The Lord of the Rings" movies have long become cult classics, just like the pipes of their characters Gandalf, Bilbo, and others. VAUEN has dedicated its own series to this fantastic pipe style.

Sandblasted pipe bowl made of briarwood. The curvy and extravagant design is reminiscent of a magnificent, perfectly shaped tulip. The flowing color gradient on the bowl makes this model particularly elegant.

Stem made of beechwood with an integrated plastic tube for hygienic cleaning. We recommend our long cleaners #50427 for this purpose. The end of the stem is fitted with a round acrylic mouthpiece. All Shire models are suitable for use with a 9mm Dr. Perl junior activated charcoal filter from VAUEN and come in special packaging.

The newest member of the internationally popular Shire family is the enchanting Arondor. With its elongated, curved bowl, it fits perfectly in the hand and, thanks to its shape and the long stem made of fine beechwood, offers an incomparably relaxed smoking experience. The unique feature of this model is the oval-shaped shank, which seamlessly transitions into the stem. This harmony gives the Arondor its special aesthetic.

 VAUEN pipes don´t have to be slowly broken in over a long time because the wood is protected
by a special lining in the tobacco bowl.

Even by temperatures of 300 to 400°C, which occurs when lighting, cannot harm the pipe.

Achieve natural beauty

 To make a pipe even more beautiful, the grain of the pipe is taken into account during production.

There are two classic grain patterns:

the straight grain and the bird´s eye grain.

In order to achieve these, the raw briar blocks from which the pipe is created,
needs th be cut along the natural grain course.

Tip number 4

Sandblasting makes the most of the grain of the pipe

A pipe bowl which has a beautiful grain but with inherent imperfections is sandblasted.
In the process the softer parts of the surface are washed out the harder relief.

The advantages are, as with rusticated pipes, a greater ruggedness and a cooler smoking pleasure.
