Autumn Evening
For the Autumn Evening, Cornell & Diehl's own Red Virginia Cavendish is given a delicate maple aroma to create this unique and universally loved aroma blend. Smokers will appreciate the taste of the fine Virginias while those around them can enjoy the warm, inviting scent.
Characterisation:
Once opened, the Autumn Evening round ring pull top tin can be closed with a plastic lid. However, decanting into an airtight container is advisable if you want to store the tobacco for a longer period of time. Underneath the cover paper is a medium wide and shorter cut mixture of medium and fawn brown fibres. Sometimes flaky parts are mixed into the cutting pattern. The moisture content is ideal to be able to plug the Autumn Evening straight away. Delicately sweet, the rising scent with creamy spice is reminiscent of milk-coffee.
Plugging:
The shorter cut makes plugging of the Autumn Evening uncomplicated. If you take care to start loose at the bottom and carefully tighten up towards the top, you will achieve a good filling.
Light up:
Since the Autumn Evening is not very humid, it is easy to ignite. After the first flame, press the filling lightly with the tamper and then use the second flame to create an even glow.
Smoking properties:
The smoke of Autumn Evening is rich and smooth, like the cold scent of tobacco. The basic tobaccos are surprisingly spicy. The Virginias transport nut aromas, a grassy acidity and classic, intense toasty notes. It is striking that the tongue seems to be covered with a sweet enamel. Here the maple syrup of the aroma with its autumnal-sweet spiciness harmonises wonderfully with the basic tobaccos. Unlike some flavored tobaccos as well as pure Virginias, the Autumn Evening can be smoked very relaxed without having to fear garging or tongue burns. This is one of the reasons why only a little medium gray, flaky ash remains, which makes cleaning very easy.
Redolency:
The room note of the Autumn Evening is characterized by the sweet aroma. In this way, the tobacco can certainly find acceptance among non-smoking society.
Conclusion:
The medium-brown, rather short-cut Autumn Evening is just as easy to prepare as it is to smoke. Flavored tobaccos as well as pure Virginias sometimes tend to make problems. The Autumn Evening, however, allows one to devote oneself comfortably to the nutty-spicy toasted bread notes of the basic tobaccos and the sweet melt of the maple syrup. Neither one nor the other comes to the fore, but the result is a well-rounded overall picture. Lovers of aromatic tobacco will not only appreciate the Autumn Evening on the time of day that give it its name.
