Manufacturer Description:
A friendly unique blend, created from finest Virginia tobaccos and blended with danish Black Cavendish. The pleasing cherry aroma adds freshness and softness to this modern blend of very high quality. The special cut guarantees a slow cool burning smoke.
Characterisation:
The Charatan No. 27 is a mixture of bright and dark brown, short and medium width cut tobaccos. The tobacco smells something sweet - perhaps vanilla - and good noticeable as cherry. The tobacco feels a little bit crumby and hard, but it's optimal conditioned.
Plugging:
The Charatan No. 27 could be plugged well. The something coarse cut recommends the use of pipes with a slightly larger tobacco chamber. To plug one lets trickle portions of tobacco into the bowl, whereby every layer should be pressed down carefully so that the tobacco fits the wall. For the top layer should be used some smaller crumbs.
Light up:
The Charatan No. 27 could be light up good, but at the first time it tends to go out rather quick. After the tobacco was pressed down with the tamper and re-ignited it'll glow equally.
Smoking properties:
After light up the Charatan No. 27 develops it's sweet cherry aroma, which covers nearly any taste of tobacco. Only the Black Cavendish could be identified as a nutty-tart nuance. In the second half the flavour decrease a little bit and then the Virginia is remarkable too. The tobacco needs some attention and has to be pressed down regularly, so it doesn't go out. Otherwise the handling is easy and the tobacco glows down with some condensate. The remaining ash is bright grey with a few dark speckles.
Redolency:
The redolence of the Charatan No. 27 is also dominated by the sweet flavour. A tobacco for societies with a typical aromatic smell.
Conclusion:
The Charatan No. 27 is a short and medium width cut mixture of bright and dark brown tobaccos with a good to identify aroma of cherry and perhaps a little bit vanilla. The handling is rather easy, whereby it's necessary to press down with the tamper regularly so that the tobacco doesn't go out. The taste and the redolence are dominated by the sweet aroma, whereby the taste decreases in the second half. From this time the Virginia could be tasted too, and the Black Cavendish could be noticed as a nutty-tart nuance all over the smoke. The tobacco glows rather slow to the end with some condensate. The remaining ash is bright grey with some black speckles. Over all the Charatan No. 27 is a good tobacco for any occasion.
