Manufacturer Description:
Smooth, well-rounded, not sweet, American blend of light Burley grades from Tennessee and Virginia tobaccos from Carolina and Georgia. Lovely, aromatic blend, refreshing on the tongue.
Characterisation:
The Original Kentucky Club is packaged in a round tin. The tobacco is wrapped in paper under a sheet that has absorbed excess moisture. The mixture consists of light and medium brown cuts of different widths, all of which are kept a little longer. If you sniff the tin, you will notice a fruity, sweet bouquet that is reminiscent of a fine red wine. Despite the wrapper, which indicates moisture, the tobacco is well conditioned. The Original Kentucky Club can be given into the pipe immediately.
Plugging:
The Original Kentucky Club is easy to plug if you don't choose a pipe that is too small, considering the long fibers. Then start loosely at the bottom and gradually tighten up towards the top.
Light up:
The Original Kentucky Club can also be lit without any problems. After the first flame, smooth the surface with the tamper and then light it evenly again.
Smoking properties:
The Original Kentucky Club hardly seems like a flavored tobacco. It is smoky and slightly fruity and sour. You can taste spices and toasted bread as well as more unusual aromas of leather. It is not easy to determine which of these is due to the added spice-fruit aroma and which to the base tobacco. This speaks both for the base tobacco and for the balanced composition of the refining additives. Also unusual for a flavored tobacco, the Original Kentucky Club smokes noticeably dry and uncomplicated. But you should not be too greedy, because the tobacco does not like that - it could react a little bit aggressively. The small amount of medium-gray, fine ash that remains makes cleaning very easy.
Redolency:
Although the original Kentucky Club is flavored, you can still smell the basic tobacco in the room. So you should be careful if you want to smoke the tobacco in non-smoking company.
Conclusion:
The Original Kentucky Club, composed of lighter tobaccos, smells like a sweet, spicy red wine. In fact, it is as complex as a fine wine when smoked. It is difficult to attribute a specific flavor component to the flavoring. The overall picture seems too natural. Sour fruit can be tasted, as can typical Virginia toasted bread. And smoky spice is combined with leathery notes that are vaguely reminiscent of good cigars. With a little attention, the Original Kentucky Club is also easy to smoke and, despite the spice, it is not heavy. This tobacco will not scare off smokers who have little experience with flavored blends.
