Macanudo Inspirado Robusto Sampler The name Macanudo, originating in Cuba in 1868, originally referred to a very particular cigar format (also known as "Vitola") of the Punch brand. The Punch Macanudo was, for many years, the most popular cigar format in the United Kingdom. Due to a shortage of dollars during World War II, the United Kingdom could no longer import goods from Cuba. As a result, the Macanudo format was produced in Jamaica at the Temple Hall Factory. In 1968, Ramón Cifuentes became the first master blender for the General Cigar Company, a subsidiary of the Scandinavian Tobacco Group. He developed the Macanudo blend as we know it today, and its taste made Macanudo the best-selling hand-rolled cigar in the United States in the early 1970s. Today, Macanudo cigars are handcrafted in the Dominican Republic. Their binder consists of aromatic tobacco grown in the fertile regions of San Andrés Tuxtla in Mexico. Only well-aged tobaccos are used for Macanudo, ensuring that each cigar consistently has the same unique, mild flavor. Every time you enjoy a Macanudo, you can rely on its consistently high quality. Macanudo, the best-selling brand in the United States and successful worldwide, is synonymous with taste, complexity, and craftsmanship rooted in tradition. With the Inspirado line, a new flavor palette opens up, guaranteeing individual smoking pleasure due to its diverse profiles.
